Speed Racer

The hubs has really gotten into this racing go-karts. He is doing really well and trying hard to learn the in and outs to racing them. It is a lot different for racing cars that is for sure. He received a 3rd place trophy on July 23th! We are so proud!

Josh has decided to start a new hobby… a racing hobby! He already drives fast so why not have some fun doing it. We are so excited about getting into go-kart racing. Everything about it sounds like fun, so far. Josh will have his first race this Saturday afternoon. Cooper seems to think that the go-kart is his.. he loves it! He will sit in it, play with the stirring wheel and say vroom vroom from as long as we will let him. I know one day we will have to buy him one. I am not looking forward to that day because I will be a nervous wreck if my baby wants to race! But we are really excited about getting into something new. It’s something that the whole family and all of our friends can come out and see on the weekends and have fun with. I’ll keep everyone posted on how it is going. Just thought I would share these cute pictures of Coop! He is ready to head to the track….

We didn't get around to doing much this holiday weekend. Mommy didn't feel very well so we stayed home most of the time. But when we did get out we went to the pool with Mrs. Danielle and Mr. Ryan and little Ava for some fun in the sun... we not really sun.. more like thunderstorms! lol As soon as we were ready, packed and at the pool here comes a thunderstorm cloud over our heads. We waited a little while and it passed. Finally we jumped in the pool for some fun. It was cut short due to another storm that was coming through. We still had fun for the short time we did get to spend with our friends. Over all we had a great 4th thinking of all of the people who fought for our independence and having the opportunity to spend time with family and friends.

Aquarium

Cooper had his first trip to the Georgia Aquarium. My company's picnic was held there this year so it was a great opportunity for Josh and I to take Cooper to see all the fish. I'm so glad we did because he LOVED it! I know he won't remember but he loved looking at everything at the time. First we saw all the fish in the big tank and the beluga whales. Josh helped Cooper pet the sting rays and hammer-head sharks, then we also got to see the famous Dolphin Tales Show. It was a great show and every time one of the dolphins would jump out of the water Cooper would point and say "Yea"...

19 months... already?!?

I just can't believe my baby is 19 months old... Time flies!!! I enjoy everyday with him and watching how much he grows and learns each day.

Highlights: On May 31 he put two words together, handed me his cup and said "more juice", June 10 started using the word "mine" for everything, June 13 pointed to his finger and said "boo boo".

Cooper's Growing like a weed (a very slow growing weed, lol):

Weighs 24 lbs
30 inches tall
In size 4 diapers

His favorite things to do:

He still loves to get his grove on.... dance, dance, dance!
Climb on everything - couch, chairs, Mommy, etc...

That is what Coop says when it is time for him to eat.. "eat eat"
Anything and Everything
Every once in a while he will not want to eat but most of the time he will eat just about anything Josh and I eat.
His favorites are still chicken nuggets - he calls them "Bach Bach"

Talking:
It just seemed like Cooper was saying two words now he is trying to repeat everything he hears.

His two favorite words are Hot and Mine
He can say all of the grandparents names - MeMaw, Poppa, Nana, Pawpaw, MeMaw, Poppy, Nana - the only one he can't say yet is Granddaddy.

Behavior and Discipline

Cooper is still trying to be Mr. Independent. One of the hardest things we have tried to do so far is take the pacifier away from him. We are only giving it to him at night and at nap time. So far he has done pretty with without it. I'm just hoping that taking it away at night won't be to hard on him or us. Besides that he is doing pretty well. He does try to test Mommy to see what he can get away with.

Sleep:

All through the night - most nights... here lately he has been waking up crying. Cutting more teeth!
Goes to bed between 7-8 p.m.
Takes one 1 1/2 hour nap a day.

The Biltmore Trip

Josh and I finally got to go on our anniversary trip to Asheville, NC. We decided to go there so that we could visit and tour the Biltmore house and it’s beautiful gardens. On the way up we took our time and stopped in North Georgia to see a big and beautiful waterfall. Josh discovered it when he did some work in that area. We also stopped at this great little shop that sold tons of homemade jelly’s, salsa’s, pastries and lots more yummy treats!

The next day we went to the Biltomore house. It was amazing. If you have never been you should really think of going one day. It is unbelieve how huge the house is and all the detail that went into it.

While we were there we did an extra tour. It took us to the top of the Biltmore where you could walk out on the balcony and see all the beautiful land.

Next were the beautiful gardens of the Biltmore.

Over all our trip was one of the best. Thanks to my wonderful hubby who made it so great! I love you!

I'm so excited for Ryan and Danielle Bagby. They will soon meet their little girl, Ava. Danielle has had such a wonderful pregnancy and now having a pretty good labor. They decided to be induced because little Ava is being just a stubborn. Mommy Danielle is already dilated to a 4 and 80% effaced. Danielle and Ryan arrived at the hospital this morning then the team of nurses started pitocin around 9 a.m. I am just too excited about meeting the little one. I took a visit on my lunch break to see how the couple were doing. Ryan is doing great... drinking to much coffee! :) And Mommy Danielle is also doing a great job!

Mother's day was the best this year. Cooper woke me up to give me a beautiful rose and the sweetest little card. Then he and Daddy made breakfast. The rest of the day we played and relaxed.

I'm so proud to be a mother to such a wonderful and sweet little boy! He is what makes me smile every day of my life! I couldn't imagine my life without him in it.

So last Wednesday I had a wonderful surprise! Cooper and I had went out to eat with my mom. While we were eating Josh had called to see what we were doing. He talked to me for a minute then told me to call when I was finished with my dinner. Afterwards mom walked out to the car with me so that I could give her an early Mother's day gift. While we were standing there talking a white truck pulls up and blows the horn... It' was Josh! Cooper started saying "Dad, Dad"... we were so suprised and excited to see that he was home!
Since Josh wasn't here on our anniversary I gave him his gift that night. He loved it! Second wedding anniversary gifts are supposed to be something cotton. So Josh got 5 white t-shirts for work and a new wedding band. He was so excited!

Two years ago today around two o'clock in the afternoon, Josh and I said our "I do's and I love you's". Our marriage and love has grown so much over these two years. I'm so happy to call my best friend my husband! The sadess part about today is that we cannot be together. The massive tonardos that hit Alabama and Georgia were so devastating and Josh was called for storm duty. He has been there since April 28 and said that the damage is the worst he has ever seen. I know that the people who live there need him there more than I need him here with me. I just hope I get to see him soon.
I love you, Josh! And I am ready to see where the next two years will take us!

Cooper had a rough day. He started out buy running, tripping and falling. When he fell he busted his bottom lip. Poor baby! I guess he was just too excited about the Easter bunny coming to visit him. :)

Easter was so much fun! Cooper had a blast hunting eggs and eating candy. He actually did really well finding the eggs and putting them in his basket. He wasn't to sure about what the Easter bunny had brought him but after Daddy started to play with some of the toys he joined in. It was a great weekend filled with spending time with family and being so thankful for all the blessings and sacrifices God has given us.

My husband and I threw our best friends a good ol southern cookout diaper shower. And boy did they rack up on diapers!

We had ribs, potato salad, coleslaw, sweet tea, punch and much more... We also had a candy table for everyone to have something to snack on before we ate. Everything seemed to turn out great. It was a beautiful day to be outside and enjoy great company.

Sucks Project

My friend Amy and I came up with a cute center piece for a 30th birthday gift. We took a glass vase filled it with candy (jelly beans and m&m's), put a cute ribbon around it with a buckle that says "30 SUCKS and it's also sweet!" Then we took a styrofoam ball and stuck 30 suckers in it. Cute and easy project!

Then we did it again for one of our dearest friends for her 50th birthday!

What going on in 2011

Wow, I’m so behind on blogging and I guess it is about that time to catch up on it. Everything has been going well in the Phillips’ family this year. Cooper is growing like a weed. He is now almost 17 months old, which is so hard to believe. At the beginning of the year we had some issues with Cooper being sick but now all is well. So far we have celebrated Josh’s 30^th birthday and had lots of fun in the spring time sun.

Josh was so excited when I set up the appointment for Cooper to have his first hair cut. We were both tired of everyone thinking that Cooper was a girl because he had long-curly hair. One of my bestest friends had told me about a place in Ashley Park (Newnan) called Zany's. She said that the inside of the place looked so neat and that it would be a great place to take Cooper for his first hair cut. So I called and made the appointment.
So many other mom's had told me that getting the first hair cut is hard... On the mom! Everyone was talking about how they cryed... blah blah... I kept telling everyone that I couldn't wait to get all that hair cut off and I wouldn't cry or be upset at all. Boy was I wrong! I thought I would be just fine and I was until.... She actually started cutting his hair and when I could see all the hair coming off... I started crying like a baby. While I'm crying, Cooper is doing just great! Now he looks like a cute little business man....

Turning 1

So much has happened since the last time I've blogged. Since then Cooper has had is first birthday! The party turned out great. He got lots of clothes and gifts.

His first year check up went well also. Cooper weighs 20lbs 14ozs and is 29 1/4 inches long. He is wearing 12-18 month clothing and size 3 shoe.

Cooper likes:

Pulling up on anything he can get his hands on

Cursing really well

Learning new words

Trying really hard to walk

Taking a few steps at a time

Playing with any toy that makes noise to drive Mommy and Daddy crazy!

Little Cooper is growing up to fast. Yesterday he turn 9 months old!!!

We had a great day with family yesterday. Cooper visited and played with Gigi, PawPaw, Uncle Trevor, Great Nana and Great Granddaddy. Today we had our 9 month check-up visit with Dr. Carter. Everything is looking great!
Cooper weighs 19lbs 12ozs and is 28 ½ inches long. He is wearing 9 month clothing and is starting to wear some 12 month clothes with a size 2 shoe.

Cooper likes:
Crawling around and venturing out
Pulling up on anything he can get his hands on
Banging toys together
Playing peek-a-boo
Playing pat-a-cake
Playing with any toy that makes noise

Busy life with an 8 month old

This past month has been a busy one. Not only are we trying to get used to the idea of Josh's new job but we also have a little boy with a temper! Cooper is as sweet as he can be but boy when he isn't happy everyone knows. On top of that he is teething. He is 8 1/2 months old and still no teeth. I'm hoping that some will break through soon and give me and him a break. The crying every afternoon is getting old! On a good note he is crawling everywhere now. And he loves to pull up using your hands. He talks all the time... lots of dada and mama but not associating it with Daddy and Mommy yet.

Another bit of good news is that Dr. Carter took him off the heart monitor about 2 weeks ago. So far he has done really well without it and seems to be sleeping better. Here are a few pictures for his 8 month pics...

Cooper's First Independence Day

The Phillips' family had a busy but fun filled weekend for the 4th. We sent time with MeMaw and Poppa in Woodstock on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. MeMaw bought a little pool for Coop to play in while we were there and he loved it. It took sometime for him to get used to the water not being as warm as bath water, but once he was used to it - he absolutly loved it. On Sunday we went to a big pool with Danielle, Ryan, Adrienne, Josh and Brody. Cooper had a blast playing with his buddy Brody and being in the pool. He loved splashing, kicking and relaxing in the float that his Gigi gave him!! Then on Sunday we went to see Mrs. Susan, Mrs. Katie and little Emma. Cooper that is was the greatest thing watching Emma swim like a little fish.

He also has some other first this weekend. He started clapping when you say "yeaaaaa" and started scooting around the floor to get to his toys instead of rolling.

It is so hard to believe that Cooper is 7 months old now. Time has just flown by... My mom and I took him to have his pictures made this past weekend. He was so good and smiled so much! He looks like a little boy now.

I can't believe my baby is already six months old. We had a great check up this month. Cooper's weight is 16lbs 10ozs in the 35% ile, Height 27 inches in the 72% ile and Head Circumference 44cm in the 58% ile.

He is a growing boy! He is trying to crawl now and it sitting up by himself pretty good. He is always saying da da and ma ma. Just past weekend he started saying "my da da". He is so stinkin' cute!

The Month of May

This month has been a great month for ME!! First of all May 2nd was mine and Josh's first anniversary. Second it was my first Mother's Day. Which was the best ever. I got nice, sweet and funny cards from Josh, Cooper and Cindy. Then I got great presents too.

Third is my 28th birthday. Which was great also. May has turned out to be a great month with friends and family.

I can't believe it has been a year since Josh and I said our "I do's". Time flies... We have had a year full of excitement and drama. I'm a little late on posting things about Easter but better late than never! :) We had a great Easter. This year was Coop's first Easter and I think that the Easter Bunny was so good to him. He came to our house, his Gigi's house and his Poppa and MeMaw's house. The Easter Bunny knew he deserved all the great gifts after all that he has been through with being in the hospital and being sick. Our day was busy but great. We went to sun rise service at church then to my mom's then onto Josh's dad's house. It was a great day spend with family. Over all Cooper had a wonderful first Easter!

I can't believe that Coop is already 4 months old. Because of him being sick he has lost some weight but here is his report from the doctors office.

Sick Baby

It has been a while since I have blogged anything and the reason is because little baby Cooper has been extremely sick. It all started with an ear infection then his doctor thought he had RSV.

On Sunday March 14th Cooper and I were home by ourselves just being lazy and sick. Coop started getting upset and crying and all of the sudden he stopped breathing. I panicked and almost started to do CPR. We called 911 and they transported us to Fayette Hospital. There the doctor just thought that he had RSV, they did a breathing treatment and sucked his little nose out and sent us home.

On Wednesday night Coop started getting really sick. He was running a fever of 102.7 and couldn't breathe very well because of all the congestion. So Thursday morning I called Dr. Carter to see if we could get in. He was booked for the day so we had to show up at 5 that afternoon and wait to be seen. Once Dr. Carter saw us it was 5:45 pm and almost everyone had left the office. Two nurses, Dr. Carter, Cooper, my mom, mother-in-law and I were the only ones there. Dr. Carter thought that Coop might have pneumonia and wanted the nurse to give him a shot of antibiotic to see if that would help. When the nurse gave him the shot he started crying and has another spell like he did with me on Sunday. I started yelling at the nurse that he wasn't breathing. She called for Dr. Carter and he came in and took Coop out of the room. He took him to a room that had oxygen and said that he was sending us the Egleston Children Hospital in Atlanta. That was the best thing that he could have done.

Once we arrived at Egleston and doctors started to check him out he had another episode. And let me tell you when he has one of these episodes it starts out with him crying and he has that hard deep cry going on and he will take a deep breath in and not breathe back out. His eyes roll in the back of his head and his face turns red then purple and he goes limp. And in a few seconds he starts breathing again very slowly. So it is a very scary process. Ok back to the story, Egleston decided to put us in the hospital for a few days to monitor Cooper. On Friday lots of doctors came in to check him out. An apnea specialist came to see him also. While the specialist was in the room Cooper had another episode. After that and a few test they told us that it was his vagal nerve. They put him on some medicine and had him on IV fluids and antibiotics. After a day or two he was much better.

So the conclusion was he had a broncular infection and problems with his vagal nerve not working right. He is now on a heart monitor for a few months and should grow out of these spells. Just keep our family in your prayers and thoughts. Thanks!

Mr. Cooper loves to bounce. And thanks to Shana and Amber we have this horsey bouncey for Cooper now. He loves it! Coop is not quite big enough for it yet but he still loves it. We just stuck a box under him so that his legs would touch and he can jump and bounce as much as he wants. The other night he just bounced himself to sleep.

So the weather man said that we would be getting snow.. and we did! On Friday Feb. 12th, while I was at work, it started snowing like crazy around 1 p.m. Around 3 p.m. I asked if I could head on home to pick up Coop before it got to bad. Once I got closer to our house the snow was coming down hard and the roads were starting to get bad. And this is what I pulled up to when I got to our house....

A car in the ditch and a cop in our drive way. The person was ok and had already got someone to come pick them up by the time I saw this.

I just couldn't believe how much snow we really got this past weekend! 2-3 inches is a lot for Grantville Ga! lol Josh and I were wishing Coop was a little older so that we could get out and play in it. But instead we just stayed in the house and enjoyed the scenery.

You know this is probably the most craziest thing to blog about but I have to do it. I'm just wondering if there are other mother's out there like me.? I just realized last night that I'm really sad that Cooper is growing out of his clothes so quickly. I mean it seems like he just started wearing some of them. And some he has never wore.... that are sooo freakin cute! Last night I started going through his closet to see what he could wear and not wear. Poor thing, now he has a little group of clothes that fit him. He is just getting so big so fast. He is now wearing 3-6 months clothes but they fit him really good now. That's not to say that in two weeks they will be tight.

Josh just celebrated his 29th birthday on Wednesday February 3rd. To help celebrate his birthday I got one of our good friends Danielle to make her famous Carrot Cake. It was sooo good! We cooked dinner and Mom, Lamar and Trevor came to eat with us.

This past weekend we celebrated with Josh's sister Christy, brother-in-law Jamie, and friends Danielle & Ryan. We went to E-Ka in Newnan to eat. Josh has been dying to eat sushi and since I've been pregnant we haven't had the chance to go eat any. So I tried sushi for the first time. And I wasn't the only one. This was the first time that Ryan had, had sushi also. We both eat a Play Boy roll and a Spicy Tuna roll! Yummy! We all loved it. After dinner we went to Jekyll and Hydes for some drinks and to play some pool. We had a blast! Over all I think Josh had a great birthday.

Fifty... Did someone say fifty? That's right.... Mr. Reggie Phillips turned 50 this past Sunday!

This past weekend Josh, Cooper and I helped celebrate Reggie’s (Josh’s dad) “Fiftieth” Birthday. We should have known that some drama would happen since we were trying to plan to go out to eat for dinner with the whole family at 5:00. While we were at Reggie and Cindy’s house there was a dog fight that got a little out of hand in their back yard. A little dog was killed by a red nose pit bull. Josh and his dad had to call the cops and animal control to come out to take care of the situation. And all of this started going on right at 4:30. So we had to call and get our reservations pushed back for a later time. Reggie said “ only on my birthday does something like this have to happen”. Thank God the cops and animal control didn’t take too long and we made it to dinner by 5:30. We ate at the Marietta Fish Market. That place is the best! I really hope that Reggie had a great 50th birthday even though he had to deal with some dog drama.

You are so sweet...

Yesterday was the big 2 month check up appointment with Dr. Carter. Cooper did really well with his shots. He was a little fussy most of the day but for the most part did really well with everything. He weighs 12lbs 13ozs... Almost 13lbs! His weight is in the 77th percentile. He is a little chunk munk! And he is 22 1/2 inches long. Which is in the 35th percentile. So he is short and round. And his head his growing just right in the 52nd percentile. All around he had a great check up!

Josh kind of got his feelings hurt last night because he was holding Coop and talking to him but the only person Coop would pay attention to was me. Josh would try and try to get him to smile but he would only smile for me. And every time I would walk off Cooper’s eyes would follow me. Josh finally said “Here he wants you… “ Even though that didn’t make Josh to happy it made my day!

Coop slept well last night, even after all the traumatic experiences he had yesterday with his shots. He was wide awake at 4:45 this morning. Usually when he wakes up about that time or later I stay up because I really don't have time to get back to sleep before I have to get up and get ready for work. So this morning (early this morning) we had Coop and Mommy time! I loved it! It really makes me miss being at home with him.

Coop is such a morning baby. He is always happy that time of the day. He just wanted to be held this morning so we sat on the couch and talked. I was saying "You are soo sweet".. and the next thing I know Coop is laughing. It was so precious and sweet that it would just make you laugh and smile right back. So I said it again.. and again... And he laughed again and again! I tell you what.. sometimes I could just squeeze him or kiss him to death!

I am so glad that God has brought this sweet little boy into my life. I couldn't ask for anything better!

So little Coop is now 2 months old. He is growing to be a big boy so fast. Yesterday was such a great day with him. He was all smiles! That boy loves to bounce. When he is old enough to sit in one of those bounce seats, I'm sure he will be bouncing all day long. I was bouncing him on the bed last night and every time I would stop he was whine until I started bouncing him again. He is so much fun! His little personality is really starting to come out now too. I'm taking off work tomorrow to take him to the Dr. for his 2 month check up. The poor baby will be getting 3 shots tomorrow. I hope he does well with it and it doesn't hurt him to bad. I'll post tomorrow how much he weighs and how long he is now. He is still a little short boy but I think he gains several ozs every day. He gets so heavy after a while of holding him.

His GiGi bought him a Valentine’s Day onesie that says 'Little Flirt', it is so freaking cute but is already tight on him. I'm not sure if he will be able to wear it for V day. It seems like just two weeks ago some 0-3 months clothes were a little big and now they either fit him good or are getting a little tight. He is just growing like a weed.

So far 2010 has been a great year. Little Coop is growing like a weed. I took him to the doctor on Jan 7th and he was weighing 11lbs 8ozs. We will go for his 2 month check up on Jan 26th and I'll post all the new info.
It was time for me to come back to work on Jan 11th. I thought about calling and telling them I needed one more week. I just hated leaving little Coop. We had gotten used to our routine of doing things and now its time for a new one. My dear Aunt Susan is keeping him for now and it is a huge help. We are so glad that she is a part of our lives and is helping us out so much by watching him.

I can't believe that my little one is 3 weeks old already. Every day it get easier.. so I'm hoping by the time I go back to work we will be on a schedule. Motherhood is a lot harder than I thought.. at first anyway. But I love my little one with all my heart! He is the cutest sweetest little thing.

The Big Day!!! So Cooper finally came out to see the world. After being at the hospital and in labor forever he shows his cute little face.
We went to the hospital Sunday night at 7. They started the cervidil about 9 o clock that night and I started hurting between 1am -3am. Then about 8am Monday morning they started me on pitocin. My water ended up breaking around 11am. We were so excited! We just knew that it wouldn't be much longer after that and we would be holding our little boy. And boy were we wrong! :) Josh even packed up all our stuff to get ready to go to another room. But then I just wasn't dilating like I needed too. Talk about painful and tiring. My epidural didn't work very well either because of my back surgery. Well there was a lot of pain and trying to sleep between that time and the time I had him. I was waiting on Dr. Banks to get finished with an emergency c-section and I just knew that I couldn't wait anymore. She finally got to the room and said "ok lets push!" Words I was dying to hear. I only pushed for about 30-40 mins but it seemed like FOREVER! And the little one was here.
He weighs 7lbs 6ozs, 19 inches long, born at 2:52am November 24th!!
We are so excited about our new little bundle of joy!!

Doctor day

So here in a little while I'll be going to the Dr. I'm so nervous... I am just worried about what they will say and do about little Cooper coming into the world. Josh is hoping that they will induce me today or tomorrow and a part of me wants that too but the other wants to wait. Don't get me wrong, I'm so tired of being pregnant... but I still feel like I'm not ready to take care of a newborn either. No matter what happens Josh and I will be parents soon!!! And that is something to look forward to.

Over Due!

Well let me tell you.... It is hard enough to be pregnant for almost a whole year and then when you have a little Phillips in your belly that is hard headed like his daddy and doesn't want to come out, it makes it even worse!! I really think that Cooper is in there to stay or either I'm not really pregnant and I've just gained a lot of weight over the past few months.

It looks like I'll be going to the Dr. on Thursday afternoon and they will schedule for me to be induced. I'm guessing they will set it up for Monday the 23rd but I'm not sure yet. I'm hoping for the next day.

I've been so upset about having him right at Thanksgiving. I just feel like it is going to ruin the Family Thanksgiving for us. We were really looking forward to taking him out to our families and showing him off. I guess we will just have to do that for Christmas instead. Plus on top of no Thanksgiving.. we found out today that NO ONE is allowed to come to the hospital. Only the father of the baby and the grandparents. This sucks so bad!! I really wanted people to come visit us in the hospital. The hospital says that people can come up there and get you and the baby to come to the nursery and they would be able to see you through the window. Crazy huh? It's all because of the stupid swine flu.

Doctor's appointment

So I had my weekly doctor's appointment today... The doctor said that I am dilated to a 2 and wanted to know if I wanted her to strip my membranes. I told her that I wasn't sure because I heard that it hurt really bad!! But I told her to do it anyway. So hopefully it will work and we will have little Cooper this weekend. They say that if stripping the membranes works it should work within 24-72 hours. The Dr. also said that she could feel his head and she thinks that he will be a 7 lb-er! I am so excited now!!! Josh is a nervous wreck!! So yall pray for us.. and let’s hope little Cooper comes on his own this weekend or next week!

We only have 8 days till our due date! I can't believe it is already time for little Cooper to see the world. Just seems like yesterday when we were telling everyone that we were expecting. Josh and I are very excited but at the same time are sooo nervous! I guess its because we don't know what to expect! I just hope that little Cooper comes on his own so that the Doctors won't induce me. I am scared to death about that. Today I have a doctor’s appointment so we will see what they have to say today. Last week I was dilated to a one. But of course you can be a one FOREVER!!! Hopefully they will check me and say that I've dilated more.

Josh told me the other day that if we don't have the little one by next Friday the 13th! (Yes our due date is Friday the 13th!!) Then we were going out to eat to Scalini's. They are famous for their Eggplant Parmigiana which is supposed to induce labor within 48hrs. Here is the story behind that......

A big thanks to family and friends that have helped with the planning of baby showers. We have gotten tons of things that we need thanks to them. Now I just need to sort through everything to get it prepared for Cooper's arrival. We are counting down the days... Only about 3 1/2 weeks and/or 26 days... Sounds scary! But we couldn't be happier about our new addition to the family.

This past weekend we had the best diaper shower any couple could ask for. Family and friends came to our house to help us celebrate little Cooper coming into our lives by bringing diapers – to get us prepared. It was a beautiful day to be outside too. A cookout was just the thing to do. Our hostesses did a great job with food and decorations.. A big thanks to Christy and Danielle!!

So today is the day we go for our 3D ultrasound. I'm so nervous and excited. Today is a big day. On top of the ultrasound, Josh is going to take his CDL driving test... So today is full of nerves and excitement.
I've been having some issues with pain, so I haven't really started on the nursery yet. I'm hoping that this weekend will be a good one and I'll be able to do some work. If so I'll put pictures up as soon as I can.

So we finally have things cleaned out and ready to paint little Cooper's nursery. Yesterday when I got home from work Josh had already started painting. He complained at first because he thought it looked pink.. or had a pink tint to it. But there was nothing about paint that looked pink... he was just being paranoid.. He said his little boy can't have a pink room! The paint looks great. We have to do some finishing touches the next few days like the trim and cleaning the carpet. After that we will be ready to put the crib and changing table up. I'll try to get some pictures and post them on here for next time.

R.I.P. Bayla Phillips

This weekend was a sad and grieving time in the home of the Phillips. We lost our sweet dog Bayla. She had been sick for the past 2 months and we were doing everything that we could to help her to get better.

She was acting as if something was wrong with her neck. As soon as we saw that something was wrong we took her to a vet to get everything checked out. They did an exam and said that she could have a pinched nerve in her neck or back. They gave me steroid pills to give in the morning and night plus a pain killer for morning and night. She seems like she was feeling better after about a week and so the vet said to lower the dosage of steroids. We did that and about a week later she was feeling worse. There came a point where one night she started shaking, drooling, urinating, and losing muscle control. We took her to an ER vet. They did x-rays and said that nothing really looked wrong with her neck and back. Her disc seemed to look like they were losing fluid and her vertebrate may be rubbing together and causing the pain. They put her on a stronger pain killer and sent us home. She is on meds night and day and all she does is sleep and use the restroom. She is not acting like our dog anymore and it's killing us. We hate seeing her in such pain and were not sure what to do from there. So we gave her the pills when she would take them.

On Wednesday July 15th was probably the last time she really walked. She couldn't stand on her own and she would urinate all over herself. Josh and I were trying to do everything we could to help her... And this past Saturday she passed. When we woke up that morning she was breathing funny. Josh took her outside and laid her in the grass in the sun. Laying in the sun was her FAVORITE thing to do. We were checking on her about everything hour. I looked out the window and she had gotten up from where Josh had laid her. I let him know and about 30 mins later he went out to check on her and we believe that she had just passed when Josh checked on her.

This weekend was hard for the both of us but especially Josh. He had, had her for 9-10 years and she was always there for him. She is truly going to be missed!!! This morning was hard for me.. I usually let the dogs out in the morning before I go to work and it was hard knowing that she wasn't there.

First I would like to let you know that we are having a BOY!!! Josh is super excited. I had to get on to him when we had the ultrasound and the tech said that it was a boy. Josh jumped out of his chair and yelled!! A boy is exactly what we wanted and I guess God wanted that for us also. Here are the pictures we have from the Dr. visit.

We have picked out the name Douglas Cooper Phillips for him. We are going to call him Cooper. Douglas represents Josh's grandfather and Cooper represents my family. When he is older and has his own little personality, Josh wants to call him DC. He thinks it sounds like a bad name.. lol He is crazy!

We are so excited and can't wait to see little Cooper. I have thought about getting a 3-D ultrasound and I'm going to look into it. So I'll let you know when I find out about something. We have already bought a crib and changing table and have already registered at Target. We still want to register at Babies R Us and Wal-mart. Josh and I went to Babies R Us the other day and picked out some bedding for the room too... It has the colors of greens, blues, and browns, and has monkey's on it. It is so cute! We showed Mee Maw (Cindy) and she just has to buy it for him..... :)

Josh is so excited that he just couldn't wait to go buy paint. So this past Monday we went to Home Depot and bought paint and are planning on painting the room this weekend.

Kandi Courtney Daniel of Grantville, Ga., was the bride’s Matron of Honor. Other attendants were Katie Nall Faison of Taraboro, N.C., Danielle Elizabeth David of Sharpsburg, Ga., and Shelley Bell Land of Newnan, Ga. They wore black dresses accented by bouquets of white roses.
The groom’s attendants were James Murray Smith of Dallas, Ga., Christopher Chad Daniel of Grantville, Ga., and Trevor Ray Cooper of Newnan, Ga. Trent Michael of Woodstock, Ga., served as best man.
The bride entered with her mother, Terri Cooper. She chose a silk halter ball gown with a pick-up skirt and elbow veil. Her nosegay bouquet consisted of two dozen red roses.
